Stoic Lessons: Inner Freedom

Ancient Stoicism emphasized how often men focus on the idea of external freedom and then be totally inwardly slaves to their impulses.

Nowadays we are witnessing a new level of slavery. Modern man's claim to outer freedom wants to extend beyond biological limits, while inner freedom is totally darkened by the manipulation that it unconsciously absorbs. Never before has the gap between perceived and real freedom been so wide.  Modern man  mistakenly thinks that humanity has never been so free and because of this erroneous perception the human being becomes a meek pack animal that allows itself to be taken to the slaughterhouse with a terrifying smile painted on its face.
