Just like the Middle Ages, only much worse

If today you dare questioning the veracity of the currently predominant religion called science, you will unleash the most disjointed reactions .

If, in the Middle Ages, you doubted about the fact that the salvation of body and soul could come exclusively from God, and not from a doctor, you most would risk to end up on the stake. You would have been dragged through the drooling crowd, their mouths thirsty for "justice" so that the heretic would be punished as he/she deserved. All this so that the pure souls would not run the risk of being shaken by doubt or corrupted by false and dangerous theories.

Nowadays the stake is the media though the disjointed reactions are the same. Once the Catholic church received retributions that everyone was obliged to pay and today it is the same. No one dares to question scientific/health theories. Even the most extreme thinkers before saying something, reassure listeners that deep down they believe. All the adepts of the prevailing religion are also shrewd guardians in pointing out heretics.  All algorithms make sure that the "free" herd vents its thirst for knowledge on articles in line with orthodoxy and then, followed by fair comments of derision, possibly everything else.

I am a heretic. I find that there are interesting ideas in Christian philosophy as well as in the scientific religion as well as in many other religions / philosophies / traditions. I can prefer some over others, I can even change my mind and tastes. The darkening of minds today is much worse than it used to be because people feel learned and free when they are mostly neither.

Moreover, the possibilities of controlling and manipulating people's minds and consciences today, and consequently the mass genuflection to the one creed, are unparalleled in the history of humanity.

To the few authentic researchers on eternal pilgrimage in search of truth and knowledge I can only say: you are not alone.
