Apology of commitment

In our withered society, the most valuable "good" is "comfort". The value of something is all the greater as this thing is simple, fast and undemanding. This mentality is devouring people's souls by reducing them to lifeless automatons.

My personal antidote to decadence is commitment. That is, being brave and to commit to a business (activity, relationship, friendship) and doing everything possible to keep the commitment, even when this involves sacrifices and losses from a quantitative point of view. Work, commitment, keeping one's word have the ability, like nothing else, to create the only possible ground for spiritual growth.
