Is Yoga Love and Union?

I take the opportunity, thanks to an email sent by one of our students lamenting the fact that she has not found Love and Union in Yoga as she would have expected, to make some small yet important clarifications.

What generates confusion, which has become a true form of chronic ignorance, is the inability to distinguish inner values from exterior manifestations. It is the interior that gives quality to the exterior and not vice versa. When a person is inwardly calm they are calm also if they move quickly just as someone who lives within an endless mental imbalance will be at its mercy even when they are sitting motionless or making slow movements of any kind and nature.

Who is in Love and Union is like this if they have to kick someone's ass because doing so, is not a reaction but the perfect expression of strength in tune with the present moment. Those who are in reactivity, in anger will bring all this to any position of Yoga.

In essence, Yoga is Union and Love when these are qualities that you have within yourself, otherwise it is something else. What you are within yourself, you will see it reflected in the world. So I conclude with a simple question: "If you don't like the world, where would you  start to change it?"
