Bonds define who you are

The bombardment to which we are subjected daily pushes us towards nihilistic individualism.

They call freedom what, in reality, is to be free from any commitment, "feel" what you really want, not having ties, finding yourself (separated from the rest of the world), being so successful that you no longer have to work (obviously without "getting your hands dirty", for instance by posting "not to be missed" photos of your everyday life), not being forced to consider yourself a woman or man, not living or having ties with a place but being a citizen of the world (even if you "know" the world only by surfing the web).

To be happy you simply have to have no ties or commitments, buy the right products (those they call "cute"), some rejuvenating moisturizer and with the addition of "always young" clothing, as a problematic kid, you will remain for ever and ever on the crest of the wave.

All this has generated the world in which we live today wherever you look around on the street (not those of television or that you find on the web ...  I mean the real ones) you do nothing but see lost and desperate looks worn by shapeless bodies without grace.

I suggest instead to change direction, to make commitments and above all to keep them. It is possible that satisfaction with one's existence (Eudaimonia) and a deeper self-knowledge come through things like: being with a person and overcoming difficulties together; make choices thinking of yourself as part of a community, even sometimes going so far as to "sacrifice" your individual interests; I suggest

to live aware of your physical and natural limits because, perhaps, they are the same limits that make you understand something more about yourself; have a sense of the sacred that does not have your ego at the center; Work and do not give up the commitments made because, in the difficulties they create and that you have to overcome, there is all the beauty of existence and what can be called life.
