Decadence of the Western Empire
I would like peace to be a resource and not a weakness, and that a greater degree of freedom and tolerance that we have sweated over the centuries is not lost because of our ineptitude.
Metaphorically speaking the full belly and the peace have made us beings without “balls”. On the one hand, the Western style has colonized the world while his exhausted body is rotting.
I look around and see fearful faces, small problems that become insurmountable obstacles, hypochondria has gone from being a mental illness to normal, and it’s also an excellent ingredient for the machine money / life- grinding machine. Anything that makes one step out of the comfort zone, whether it’s about "moving a bit 'more than usual " or adjusting to hot or cold, or simply interacting with other humans without a screen in between, generates feelings of anxiety and tension. Around us, there are hungry populations used to difficult situations deriving from misery, war and violence and our destiny is probably to disappear or, in any case, to be ruled by these three.
However, I am personally determined to do my best so that things go differently. I would like peace to be a resource and not a weakness, and that a greater degree of freedom and tolerance that we have sweated over the centuries is not lost because of our ineptitude. The great Taoist master Sun Tzu centuries ago wrote a great pacifist manifesto called "The art of war", sensing that a state of peace and balance can only be reached if one is strong enough and determined to put off aggression.
The direction that our school has taken, with its courses and camps where we sweat and fight and where we meet and interact, as well as get out of the comfort zone (at least in my personal contribution) is an aspect of this will to not to give up.
