Ground Zero Italy
What I wonder is if, at some point, there is really a difference between the Italian system and the various mafias that the system should fight.
The question I ask my self is not so much if there is going to be a total collapse of the Italian system rather when and what there will be left. Italy is doomed. Smothered by a system of welfare, by small and great privileges that no one wants to give up and whose maintenance suffocates the few who do something "productive" and create wealth.
Some of you may think it’s all the politicians’ fault, but unfortunately this is not so. If it was their fault it would mean that the foundation is solid and by replacing them everything would be all right. And if it was their fault they wouldn’t even be there. They are what they are because they are useless and represent useless people. The problem today is that anyone who really tries to save the boat would be “killed off” immediately by the same people that they are trying to save. What I wonder is if, at some point, there is really a difference between the Italian system and the various mafias that the system should fight or if, as it seems, there is no difference and both are similar entities that simply fight each other and the cancer of the decadence has now spread throughout the "body". I do not have any solution to offer but to suggest living as much as possible without interacting with the government and to teach next generations to expect nothing and ask for nothing because, the moment you accept or demand, you’re already “a customer”. The problem is that only to write about it, makes me feel an inadequate idealist and perhaps a purifying collapse is what is needed in order to create the foundation for a rebirth of Italy.
