YOVOLO -
Antigravity Yoga

All the benefits of Yoga without the weight of gravity

Play with Yoga poses without the burden of gravity. Antigravity Yoga can be simple and suitable for everyone, until it becomes challenging, extreme, almost circus-like yet maintaining lightness in the game. Flying Yoga can become an added value to your studio or if you wish to add an extra professional skill to your CV when applying for gyms and/or Yoga studio jobs.
The concept behind Yovolo is a "biological" or natural training because the only weight you will use is going to be that of your body.

The approach is essential and without too many formalisms, it is a way to go back to when we were children, rediscovering how to play, starting from the swing, to the upside-down positions, up to the acrobatics in the air, all in complete safety.

Yovolo will help you bring balance in all the other disciplines you already practice and in addition, from a yogic point of view, it is anti-aging: it reverses the descent of Amrita, the nectar of the gods, the drink of eternal youth.

MASTER TRAINING INFORMATION

Antigravity Yoga: training method to detoxify from daily gravity.
Getting rid of the sense of gravity has many advantages: it stretches the spine, frees the joints from compression, relieves muscle tension, improves the circulatory and lymphatic system. Working in "download" provides a sense of lightness and agility and allows you to find the right body alignment and maintain the correct posture during the exercises.

It is movement while hanging: supported by special hammocks in elastic fabric, soft and resistant, which hang from the ceiling, support the body and wrap it during practice.

Whatever the posture taken on the hammock, the training offers a great advantage: the asanas on the ground can be intensified without the slightest effort on our part.

On the other hand, performing the exercises on air is a valid workout because when you get off the ground and are upside down, the body feels a feeling of instability and to counteract it, it must activate the core muscles . This stress, which also affects the deepest muscle fibers, is intense and continuous and has a strongly toning action, it's antigravity yoga, but not just that.

Wriggling legs and arms mid-air, a bit like acrobats, makes us children again, it's like playing while we train in complete safety.

Swinging on hammocks, moreover, is a powerful anti-stress, hanging between earth and sky in a reality that does not exist, cradled and wrapped in a sort of nest, or cocoon. It's a plunge into the past and the primitive feelings that has the power to lighten our neuroses.

How do you practice? Some exercises of this discipline which are executed on the ground and that usually open the lesson, use the hammock as a support to perform positions of balance, opening or to warm the areas of the body that will be activated or lengthened later.

This warm-up focused on increasing strength and flexibility, allows an intense and gradual muscular work to get closer to the aerial center of the class.

We'll begin with simple positions and gradually, more and more acrobatic figures will be inserted in a perfect crescendo to make the execution of sequences safe and fun.

The practice ends with an enveloping relaxation, "cocooned" in the hammock in order to release any tension and bring the body back to its balance.

We will learn how traditional asanas can be facilitated with hammock support and it will be fun to discover all the positions mid-air, taking your feet off the ground.
There will be a specific focus on inversions after being given a theoretical introduction.
There will also be times to emphasize the importance of learning to keep "down to earth" through Hari Yoga.

_
Benefits of Antigravity Yoga:

  • Strengthens and develops strength in the muscles of the upper body

  • Extends the spine and all muscle groups

  • Being a workout in balance leads to activate the deep postural muscles, going to rebalance any postural imbalances

  • Strengthening the body's alignment will bring benefits in daily life and other sports

  • It teaches to move and control the body in an unusual dimension thus improving the sense of balance and body perception

  • The execution of exercises and asanas with support means that not all the body weight weighs on the osteo-articular structure giving relief to the joints and spine thus allowing you to isolate and better perceive the muscles on which you work. You can perform the upside-down positions of yoga without forcing your neck and back and without the risk of trauma

  • The inversions that characterize yoga on a hammock activate different nerve receptors that affect balance, orientation, and the ability to react to external stimuli making us more present to our body. "The here and now" on the hammock is seriously necessary (or you'll risk falling on the floor)

  • In the inverted positions all the organs benefit from the absence of gravity and a greater amount of oxygen is supplied to the brain

  • Thanks to the massage carried out by the practice at the main lymphatic stations of our body, both the cardiovascular and lymphatic system improve

  • Some positions may help to overcome old fears such as emptiness, the inability to succeed, allowing the practitioners to confront themself and their limits

  • Try yoga poses with support, then allow yourself to "dare" a little more but safely, in asanas that we still do not master

  • The increase in body awareness synched to the breath, generates a personal pleasure that triggers a mechanism of psycho-physical well-being.

  • Fights hypertension

  • Another component, not marginal, is the fun that this discipline brings with it making even the efforts less tiring

_
Contraindications

  • High blood pressure

  • Glaucoma

  • Epilepsy

  • Neck injuries

  • Prostheses of any kind

  • Heart problems

  • Recent surgical operations

  • Ear problems

  • Pain in the hand, wrist or carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Hiatal hernia

  • Dizziness

  • Osteoporosis

  • Sinusitis

Please do not wear rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings during the practice on the hammock because they could ruin the fabric; avoid heavy makeup because it could soil the hammocks.

We recommend: wearing t-shirts with short sleeves that cover the armpits and tight leggings (no short), to avoid zippers and buttons.
